Bavarian Haus Lakefront Inn

I loved the location and the cute note about the bugs if you leave the balcony open. I also loved that we could have a fire. I would suggest that the owner keep bundles of firewood on property- he could make a fortune :) it was quite the feat trying to find firewood in the evening after all the shops had closed! I loved the options for the pool area! The dry sauna was a gem! I needed all those luxuries after running on the Island! I really enjoyed the breakfast. The staff was beyond kind and funny! They definitely deserve to be treated well- they work hard and are very authentic in their communications with guests!

We loved our entire visit. The place is adorable -- clean, every room has a lake view, the park-like front yard was perfect with lawn games and lounge chairs. HUGE thanks to the staff! They were fabulous and so helpful, welcoming, and friendly. Breakfast was great -- a typical continental breakfast with all the usuals (cereal, toast, bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, coffee, tea, juice). My kids loved the pancake machine! The indoor pool was exactly what the kids needed after a day of driving. And the Mexican restaurant next door was fantastic. Many thanks! We'll be back the next time we're passing through town.

The location was great. The view was great. It was nice to have an indoor pool. The staff were very friendly. The hotel room was very clean.

We come here for the view!! Fabulous!! The deck is our favorite spot. We've stayed 3 or 4 times, and the staff is always wonderful. We've always had clean rooms. If we need extra towels or coffee the staff is very accommodating. The location is also great. They offer a fairly decent breakfast of coffee, juices, yogurt, fruit, pancakes, muffins, cereal (with milk) and bagels. You can sit on the breakfast deck or take it back to your room and enjoy breakfast on your own deck. They also have things to do on their property (kayaks, horseshoes, campfires, etc.), but we haven't used them yet. This is our "go-to" hotel when we stay in St. Ignace.

I wish I took pictures, but it’s not something I thought about. I stayed in a two bedroom suite with my husband and our toddler. We loved the view of the lake and Mackinac Island. The room was bare-bones, but very clean. They weren’t doing stay over service while we were there, but would come in and clean if you requested it. The staff was AMAZING. Very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. The beach is great and the pool is nice. The breakfast is a basic continental breakfast, nothing fancy. But still a welcome way to save a little money. Every decent hotel in the area is expensive (duh) but I thought this one, more on the cheaper side, went above and beyond to be clean, friendly, and helpful.
